I just got this toy from Target….by the way don’t buy anywhere else, it’s 48$ at Target, I wouldn’t pay any more for it, but it’s a good 48$ spent, i was trying and trying to “pinch” my fingers in it as others have mentioned, my son would have to ram his entire arm in it to pinch it, even my big fingers were hard to pinch I had to carefully line up the letter blocks just right and then pull my finger in the right direction slowly for it to happen, honestly I could see that it is POSSIBLE but not something to really worry intensely about or even to put as a reason not to get, like I said it really is actually a challenge to do, I tried in the store several times, I even put my entire hand in the letter section without it getting pinched!

The Parents Magazine Battat Busy Zoo activity cube is a fun-filled learning experience. The activities are simple enough for one-year-olds to understand and large enough for them to manipulate with ease. On top, they can move animals along tracks or twirl wooden shapes along looping wire. Choices around the four sides include rotating picture blocks until they form a picture of a variety of animals; turning any one of interconnecting gears to make them all spin; opening and closing a door and window. For the future, reversible alphabet blocks show a picture and its initial letter on one side, and the upper and lower case letter on the reverse. The various finger and hand manipulations will develop the muscles later used in learning to write.

Dangerous Edges – Josiah’s Mom –
I bought this product for my 12 mos. old. He absolutely loved it, but when he tripped on the rug, and hit his forehead on the top edge we realized that not all of the edges are rounded. The top edge of this toy is sharp, and split his forehead open. We had to make a trip to the ER, and my son now has a scar on his beautiful forehead! I’m so upset!

Our 11-month-old daughter received the Busy Zoo as a Christmas gift. I love it! She immediately pulled herself up on it and started playing with it. She can walk all around it holding on (she’s not yet walking) while playing with it. She also sits on the floor and opens and shuts the doors with animals behind it. It arrived in perfect condition from Amazon and looks absolutely adorable in the house – unlike the ugly plastic toys we have! It’s only been two days but it keeps her entertained more than any other toys.

My 8 1/2 month old son loves this activity table- it’s sturdy enough for him to pull himself up on and he loves playing with all the little wood beads and peices afixed on top. No sharp edges to worry about either.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this toy! It’s awesome. I really believe that kids don’t need toys that light up and sing. I agree with the statement, “The less the toy does, the more the child will do.” My daughter is 14 months and loves this toy. However, the toy did have some plastic stuck to the paint, like it was put in packaging before the paint dried, or the packaging melted onto the toy in spots. I wouldn’t give this toy as a gift to anyone outside of my family for that reason. It looks pretty tacky with the melted plastic stuck to it. Otherwise, I love this toy.
